ABOUT MY ME AND MY WORKSTYLE

SKILLS/STRENGTHS

Innovative. I tend to be inventive and proactive in creating new ways for things to be done and always on the lookout for new ways and methods of doing things. I bring a sense of confidence which sometimes motivates and empowers others. I am very comfortable in my ability to brainstorm original ways for things to be more productive, and I am not afraid to take risks if it means finding a new, better way.

Courageous. I am a dynamic and brave person who embodies a sense of adventure and am comfortable taking risks. However, my courage and risk taking is not done impulsively but with responsibility and steady restraint.

Diplomatic. Because I am patient and confident, I am skilled in dealing with sensitive matters or people. I have a relaxed disposition that sometimes can make others feel assured and safe in my presence. I have the ability to be considerate in my interactions with my team members and take time to listen to their concerns and ideas. I believe these qualities can be quite beneficial in the many types of work.

Introspective. I have a quiet calm about me, something that others might perceive as being shy, however this trait can be advantageous in that I am able to think things through before deciding to speak. I tend to be thoughtful and measured in what I say.

Deliberate. I think about or discuss issues and decisions carefully before taking action. I am disciplined in my approach to work, taking pains to follow the rules and comply with the company’s expectations. I believe that this trait is highly valuable because I can be counted on to be reliable and consistent in what I do.

Compatible. I am an agreeable person when it comes to how I interact with others at work. As one who goes by the flow, I have the ability to adapt to almost any change thrown my way. I am accommodating of my colleagues, and it is very likely that most people find me enjoyable and easy to be around.

Passionate. I am very passionate about my work and have a tendency to get emotionally charged about work issues and bring a high level of energy and intensity to whatever I do. This increased feeling of pressure of emotion can be quite motivating and stimulating if it is harnessed correctly.

MY GREATEST STRENGTH

Multi-Tasking. My greatest strength is in multi-tasking. I am very effective at managing multiple things at once and talented in quickly producing work. My best assets are my abilities to be sharp and a quick learner both of which I feel are valuable in any type of work environment. Because I am so efficient, a fast pace or little stress will not scare me in the least.

MY WORKSTLYES

Collaborative Work Style. Although I am not at a loss when working by myself, I feel much more productive when I can work with a team and bounce ideas off other people. I enjoy the camaraderie of working with a group and feel much more effective than when working on my own. I am very confident in my ability to open up and share my ideas and thoughts with others and do not feel insecure when others review my work.  However, just because I prefer collaborative work, it does not mean that I am an extrovert or outgoing person. My collaborative style is due to the fact that I believe that I do my best work when I have the opportunity to work as part of a group.

Trusting Work Style. I have faith in my superiors and I follow directions without questioning too much. I have an ingrained respect for authority and am accommodating to the needs of my organization and coworkers. I am most comfortable when I do not have to challenge people, which make me quite easy to work with. While I am a person who implicitly trusts organizational decisions, that does not necessarily mean that I do not voice my own opinions. Instead, if it was important or lives are at stake, I would speak up in a measured and careful way, making sure not to rock the boat too much.

VALUES IMPORTANT TO ME AT WORK

Personal Growth. The aspect of a job that I value most is personal growth. For me, work is one of the main ways that I identify myself and experience new and exciting challenges. More than just a job, I believe that work should provide me with the freedom to utilize my talents and be innovative. I seek challenge and responsibility, am not afraid to take some risks, and hold on to the notion that my work will cultivate meaning as well as define me as a person. Although I have yet to obtain the sense of personal growth that I am looking for, I continue to make work decisions based on my desire to reach this goal. I hope that I will ultimately feel spiritually, mentally, and emotionally fulfilled by my work.

Security. I would like work to offer consistency and stability, with few unknowns popping up along the way. I like to make decisions based on the fact that my job will be secure for some time to come.
Helping Others. I have unselfish or altruistic concern for the welfare of others and want my work to benefit society in some way. For me, work serves a greater purpose than just the individual benefit that I might gain. I strive to know that I am somehow helping to make the world a better place.

Achievement. I am likely driven and determined to achieve as much as I can in whatever I do. I like success and desire the expert status and admiration that come with it.

Balance. I would ideally like a job flexible enough to not interfere with my personal life, I am willing to accept that my work will sometimes get in the way of my outside interests and/or personal relationships. I am willing to sacrifice some balance in order to further my career and I make my work decisions reflective of that.

Financial Success. To me, monetary rewards are somewhat important and can be motivating. Although I am not entirely driven by the prospect of financial success, I still want to be paid adequately and ultimately gain some financial security from my work.

PERSONAL

Favorite Hobby:

I love radio controlled cars, planes, and helicopters.  I prefer helicopters over the other two.  The RC cars are fun but it is not much fun unless you are racing other cars.  RC planes are awsome but they require a very large area without any trees and they cannot be flown in the city.  Electric RC helicopters are what I like currently because you can fly them anywhere from in the garage to your backyard and even at a large park.  Their standing lift-off capability does not require a long, tree-free landing strip like planes.

A decent electric RC helicopter that comes Ready-to-Fly will start at around $200.00 and can go up to $1,000 but you don't need to spend that much to have fun.  Be prepared to spend around at least $300.00 for your first helicopter.  Don't get anything cheaper than $200.00 or you will regret it because usually the less expensive ones are not made of good quality and will break easily or sometimes not fly correct and you will not be able to fly it.

I trained myself flying electric RC helicopters with a coaxial helicopter which has two propellers on top instead of one and no tail propeller.  The two propellers spin in opposite directions and thus stabilize the helicopter making it easier to control for beginners.  If you are a beginner, I don't recommend that you get the regular helicopters with a tail rotor like real helicopters unless you are prepared to crash it because you will if it is your first time so get a coaxial.

Coaxial RC Helicopters

(Prices start at $99)

Regular 6 Channel Advanced RC Helicopters

(Prices start at $149.  Most of the tail rotors on these types are belt-driven by a motor up front that drives the main blades much like a real helicopter does which is why they are so much fun and exciting.  Once you control one you will not want to let go.)
